These were taken at McSwain as well. What I have learned from a lot of the challenges that I have done thus far, that red is a great color to work with if you want something to pop. Since I had nothing else to do other than relax and take photos, I kind of watched for opportunities. This grandmother took her granddaughter for a canoe experience clear across the lake. As they got closer to the other side's edge, the water became a gold tone from the reflection of the brown foothills. I think they both work well for negative space, but want your CC!

they both do work well. Like the second one better just because of the way the water looks and the red just pops in that photo.both have good compostion.
No CC from me. I like them both but am kind of leaning towards the 1st one because I like the canoe being so far out in the distance - really makes it look like wide open spaces.
I think they both work really well and I agree about the red..I will say though that I like the second one better just because the boat is closer and I feel more about it that way know what I mean?
I havent' participated very well in the challenge so far..sorry, it has been busy but after this next weekend things will be back to normal for me!
I like the 2nd one. The colors are more inviting to me. The first one appears to be a drabby day and the 2nd seems like a warm, blue sky kind of day.
