Negative Space - Object (2)

1/56, f/8.0, ISO 200
This shot was taken at dawn at McSwain Lake...if you are wondering what it is, it's a rock not far from shore. I just liked the way the auburn sunlight lit the edge of the rock.

This is interesting. I couldn't tell, at first, if the rock was a tail sticking up out of the water, or something else. I like the negative space idea. I wonder if it would have been possible to take the shot in such a way that the water did not have such a brightness to it at the top third of the picture. Anyway know of a way?
